DescriptionKOSCIUSKO REMCWARSAW, INDIANAPOSITION SPECIFICATIONSEnergy and Key Account Coordinator(January 2018)EDUCATION: A two-year Associates Degree in business administration or relevant discipline along with three years' experience is preferred. However, candidates possessing a minimum of five years' experience in energy services, public relations/education and/or engineering may also be considered.EXPERIENCE: A community or customer service focus along with a minimum of five years' experience involving hands-on work in one or more of the areas listed above is required. A background in the electric utility industry is preferred.JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have the ability to understand and communicate energy management concepts and possess a thorough knowledge of electrical, heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and cooling as well as energy efficiency/conservation. Must be familiar with servicing the needs of all Kosciusko REMC members, including residential, commercial and large industrial accounts.ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Must possess the ability to develop programs and initiatives for local organizations in regard to energy and safety education.Must have the ability to work closely and effectively with the co-op's most critical members. This requires strong analytical and organizational skills. It also demands a person with exceptional interpersonal skills, both oral and written, possessing the ability to relate ideas, concepts and enthusiasm to members, peers and superiors. Proficiency with computers and software such as Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with up-to-date social media marketing trends is preferred. Must be able to communicate in a positive manner with internal and external contacts.WORKING CONDITIONS: Generally accepted office conditions. Working hours are flexible due to occasional meetings and events outside the normal workday. It is expected that the ratio between office and field work will be 40:60. Some overnight travel may be required to other electric cooperatives, Wabash Valley Power Association, Indiana Electric Cooperatives, national meetings and seminars, etc. This travel time is included in the office/field work ratio presented above.WORK REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid driver's license. Must reside within a 45-minute commute to the Cooperative headquarters office in Warsaw. The position of Energy and Key Account Coordinator was created to achieve the purpose for which Kosciusko REMC organized; that is:Kosciusko REMC is dedicated to safely providing quality electric energy and services to members at a competitive cost. We value integrity, accountability, innovation and commitment to community above all else.B. The specific objectives for this position include:1. To facilitate an energy education program with local organizations based on the overall marketing and communication messages of the cooperative with an ongoing focus on youth and safety education.2. To deliver a comprehensive energy marketing and management program that includes, but is not limited to, residential, commercial and industrial energy use analysis, load management, safety and energy services sales.3. To assist, as requested, the Manager of Marketing and Member Service and Communication Specialist in delivering a comprehensive communications, public relations and sales/marketing program to members designed to inform, build awareness of the organization's programs and increase sales and/or participation in KREMC programs, products and services.4. To track the progress of all assigned projects, programs and/or initiatives, and to recommend modifications to those programs as necessary to achieve the most benefit for the members and the Cooperative as a whole.II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSA. Reports to: Manager of Marketing and Member ServiceB. Supervises: NoneIII. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIESA. Planning and Controls1. Community and Education Works as a liaison between the cooperative and organizations such as schools to develop, update and maintain a comprehensive program with a focus on safety and energy education.2. Annual Work Plan and Budget Assists in the development of annual work plan and budget (operating and capital) for Department 30. Once approved, assists in monitoring progress and compares actual expenditures to budget figures and reports results to his/her supervisor.3. Annual Meeting Assists the Manager of Marketing and Member service and Communication Specialist as needed in development and executing the event.4. Study and Research Studies current trends and research in the areas of energy management and energy related technologies in order to promote programs and to implement new concepts where applicable.5. Strategic Planning Makes recommendations regarding community education, load management and energy related technologies to the department manager.6. Trade Allies Is responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing an effective trade ally program resulting in improved relations and a heightened awareness and utilization of the Cooperative's marketing programs, products and services.B. Organizing1. Position Descriptionsa. Prepares and updates own position description and specifications, and then reviews annually with supervisor.2. Morale and Motivationa. Contributes to high organizational morale by exhibiting a positive attitude.C. Training1. Makes recommendations to supervisor regarding training opportunities and perceived needs.2. Sees that specialized training related to Key Account and Energy Coordinator issues is provided for personnel in other departments as requested or required.D. Operations1. Personally performs the following activities unique to this position:a. Cultivating relationships in the community with schools and organizations is a primary focus. Educating our community using dynamic and engaging educational programs for kids and up-to-date information for interested community organizations.b. Residential Energy Audits Conducts energy audits for members. Collect data from home to generate an energy audit report that includes specific energy saving measures for the member. Encourage members to utilize current rebates/incentives and tax credits to aid with efficiency projects.c. Rebates Manage the rebate program for residential and C&I members. This includes staying current on rebates offered by Wabash Valley Power and KREMC, making recommendation to KREMC leadership for rebate amounts/types, creating a marketing/communication plan to educate members on rebates, processing residential rebates (both KREMC and WVPA) and coordinating C&I rebates through WVPA.d. AMI Working knowledge of Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) functionality is highly recommended.e. Key Accounts Works with Manager to develop and implement KREMC Key Accounts program. Responsible for utilizing all KREMC resources/departments to solve problems/issues for key accounts.f. Liaison between wholesale power provider for commercial and residential programs.g. Member Meetings Takes leadership role in planning, advertising, and coordinating member events such as weatherization, renewable and energy education workshops.h. Writes and designs informative articles for the Electric Consumer magazine and other publications to educate the membership on energy management, load management and energy related technologies.i. Performs day-to-day activities associated with Energy Advisor program. Provides energy efficiency advice and counseling to members building new homes/facilities, etc.j. Diagnose and make recommendations regarding power quality, energy efficiency and bill management for member businesses. Also, assist commercial accounts with rebate opportunities.k. As directed by the CEO or Manager of Marketing and Member Service, the Energy and Key Account Coordinator works on special projects as the Cooperative's liaison.l. Ensures that member/customer complaints involving his/her area of responsibility are fully investigated and promptly resolved.m. Develops relationship with Key Accounts and provides support and assistance when needed.n. Be available to assist with member support during outages and emergencies as needed with Key Account interaction taking priority.o. Performs other duties as directed or required.IV. RELATIONSHIPSA. Internal1. With Communication Specialist and Department Managers To share information on energy, key accounts and education, to coordinate efforts on servicing new and existing members, to coordinate efforts on the resolution of member inquiries relating to metering, power quality, and service reliability.2. With all Cooperative Personnel To exchange information and make available the necessary resources for delivery of quality member service by the entire organization while simultaneously achieving the goals of the marketing department specifically. Help foster a positive work environment through teamwork, respect and courtesy.B. External1. With Community Groups To share information pertaining to energy management, energy related technology, electric safety and energy efficiency.2. With Trade Allies To assist in distributing information regarding various Cooperative programs and to build a sound working relationship so that the goals of the department and organization are achieved.3. With Industry Associations To engage with industry partners in research, development, training opportunities, and exchange of vital information to assist the Cooperative and its members. Such organizations could include Wabash Valley Power Association, Touchstone Energy, and the Department of Energy.4. With Members To respond to individual inquiries promptly and effectively in a professional and courteous manner.5. With Vendors and Sales People To obtain a quality product and good value in return for the Cooperative's resources.6. With the General Public To see that casual and occasional contacts are responded to promptly and effectively, and to project a favorable image of the Cooperative.
