Amazon Corporate LLC Energy Procurement Manager in Seattle, Washington

DESCRIPTION Amazon is looking for a results-oriented individual to join the AWS Infrastructure Energy Team. In this role, you will negotiate and execute power supply contracts across Amazons global data centers in an effort to create a diverse, low-cost energy portfolio. The candidate will need to be able to identify key market conditions, regulations, and market structures to help evaluate potential savings opportunities. The optimal candidate will have a results orientated approach, analytical skill set, and strong financial acumen Function Specific Work Activities: * Support the development and execution of a comprehensive energy and utilities strategy for AWS data centers * Execute electrical supply contracts that reduce cost, minimize risk and leverage opportunities that benefit Amazon * Work collaboratively with Amazon Infrastructure team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities * Analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit Amazon * Develop strategies to capture movement in energy markets to identify cost savings opportunities for new and existing data center sites * Manage energy projects against plans and objectives to ensure commitments are met, delivering against cost savings goals * Be a passionate self-starter BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) required- Economics/Engineering/Business * 5+ years of experience working in utility/energy industry * Support the development and execution of a comprehensive energy procurement strategy by leveraging energy markets, and portfolio management theory * Work collaboratively with Amazon Infrastructure team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities * Manage energy projects against plans and objectives to ensure commitments are met, delivering against cost savings goals * Be a passionate self-starter PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Master's Degree (MBA/MS) preferred * Experience in energy markets and trading * Understanding of energy markets and policies * Power transaction experience in international markets outside of the United States Amazon is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer – Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation
