Department Overview

PG&E’s Customer Energy Solutions department (CES) is responsible for designing, implementing and administering customer demand side management programs, including energy efficiency, distributed generation, demand response, and rate programs that help PG&E customers in Northern and Central California manage the energy use of their homes and businesses.

Position Summary

The Rotational Associate Business Analyst will support various organizations across Customer Energy Solutions. The role will typically identify and implement process and system improvements, manage communications, prepare analysis and presentations, coordinate strategic support for essential business procedures/processes and work in cross-functional teams. This position will be a junior member of various teams with significant exposure across PG&E’s Customer Energy Solutions department.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work in multi/cross-functional teams in a matrix environment and will have experience with inter-organizational management and participation on complex, strategic projects. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and should communicate effectively with all levels of management.

This position begins in August of 2018 and is for students who have graduated by July 2018.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates will have received a Bachelor’s in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, Economics or related discipline and have graduated between May 2017 and July 2018.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous utility experience

  • Experience with presentation development

  • Former PG&E internship

  • Project management background or certification

  • Versed with social media

  • Versed with Adobe Photoshop and/or other Adobe products

  • Versed in various analytical tools and software (SAS, STATA, R, VBA etc.)

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office

  • Experience working on teams

  • Experience organizing and conducting complex projects

  • Assist Management with the leadership of key department initiatives such as process improvements, organizational communications and organizational strategy

  • Align organizational strategies with larger corporate strategy objectives

  • Liaison between various departments and cross functional teams

  • Research and data analysis; compile and prepare reports for upper management

  • Utilize system and personnel resources to successfully address inquiries from internal business partners
