Job Description

ICF is adding staff to its energy efficiency team in Oregon to support a wide range of energy efficiency programs. Our clients include utilities, recognizable Fortune 500 global corporations, as well as a variety of industry, non-profit and government organizations. We seeking an established Account Manager toprospect and use utility efficiency incentive programs to help completethe implementation of projects that meet our clients expectations. An Account Manager works with multiple customers, contractors and projects, interacts with all levels of internal and external staff and applies commercial technical knowledge and experience to customer, client and ICF. Account Mangers work directly with our clients, in addition to commercial retrofit experts in their fields of expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team ensuring that the implementation of energy-efficiency projects are successfully executed to meet specific utility goals in commercial, retail, institutional, and government markets in Portland, Oregon;

  • Recruit and develop program participants (customers and trade ally contractors), develop and implement sales strategies, prepare and deliver persuasive presentations, field customer inquiries, attend networking activities;

  • Provide technical assistance and Program guidance on energy-efficient technologies and practices to organizations participating in utility-sponsored programs bycreating written documents and compelling presentations that convey key analytic findings for distribution to internal/external clients;

  • Work directly with our engineering team to understand technical specifications, engineering calculations and cost estimates for energy efficiency projects; be able to communicate results to customers effectively;

  • Provide an array of contractor trade ally support and assistance services in collaboration with our trade ally contractor team;

  • Conduct surveys of energy efficiency projects to assess opportunities and verify equipment and present financial reasoning to incorporate efficiency into sales approach;

  • Continually drive regional projects to meet portions of utility-specific quarterly energy savings goals through short and long-term relationship building strategies;

  • Develop a deep pipeline (primarily natural gas related) to meet goals using proactive account management techniques, tools, and industry knowledge.

  • Forecast project timeframes regularly with customers and contractors and deliver projects on time Work effectively as part of a large and integrated operations, outreach and engineering team to meet client goals while providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor s or Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Energy Efficiency utility programs;

  • Demonstrated account management and/or sales experience;

  • 3 to 6 years of energy efficiency or equivalent natural gas-specific trade experience;

  • Direct or indirect knowledge and experience with facility planning and budgeting cycles across public and private industry sectors;

  • Demonstrated experience working across small and large commercial, markets, various customer facilities, and commercial building systems, with energy efficient and renewable technologies;

  • Strong working knowledge or experience in the existing network of primarily natural gas related distributors, contractors and construction market players in Northeastern, OR;

  • Familiarity with energy efficiency program implementation;

  • Demonstrated experience with energy efficiency technologies such as HVAC, Controls, and other efficient commercial building equipment;

  • Ability to learn program requirements quickly and self-train using on-line resources;

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage video/telecommunications; database and customer relationship management software, and MS Office products to communicate with;

  • Must have valid driver s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check;

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Certified Energy Managers, Building Operators Certificate or similar;

  • Experience performing energy audits and assessments for commercial customers;

  • Experience with Natural gas energy efficiency technology in the commercial retrofit environment;

  • Exceptional long-term relationship building, communication and influencing skill sets;

  • Presentation-building and delivery skills to groups of decision-makers, including experience with presenting financial benefits(ROI, IRR, NPV)concepts and non-energy benefits;

  • High level attention to detail to match customer and client expectations;

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and outstanding level of professionalism with larger client team, customers and contractors who support the industry;
