BAD Buildings at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a BAD Buildings Project Associate. This position will provide assistance in the implementation of the WVU Brownfields, Abandoned and Dilapidated (BAD) Buildings program.The BAD Buildings Project Associate will help communities establish sustainable community development initiatives that will enhance the well-being and quality of life for the people of WV, attract investment to communities, and maximize resources in the state.In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:Facilitate the implementation of community development strategies on abandoned and dilapidated properties, including coordinating stakeholder groups, project identification, project prioritization, site redevelopment plans, and pursuit of public and private sector funding opportunities.Serve as the project contact for communities in a specified geographic area associated with the BAD Buildings program, including the management of communications with community stakeholders and facilitation of community development activities, such as creating and presenting materials in public meetings and synthesizing stakeholder input on projects.Work in concert with other BAD Buildings Program staff assigned to other geographic regions.Cultivate and develop relationships with community stakeholders.Assist with day-to-day tasks associate with the WVU BAD Buildings program.Represent WVU BAD Buildings at meetings, conferences and other events as needed consistent with objectives of the organization.Travel as needed for single day or multi-day periods to meet with representatives from federal, state, community and private organizations regarding progress of funded projects and for promoting WVU BAD Buildings.VEVRAA Federal ContractorRequest Priority Protected Veteran ReferralsEOE -Veteran /Disabled/Minority/AA/F/M/SO
