Energy Practice Summary: Navigant Consulting’s Global Energy Practice enables the largest energy companies, governments and regulators to anticipate the changes and to meet the challenges of transforming global energy markets.

Our consultants are all dedicated energy specialists, are highly qualified and collectively combine substantial operational experience with deep profession-based skills. Together, we possess an extensive understanding of each aspect the energy supply chain including operations, regulation and policy. We specialize in power and water markets and upstream/downstream oil and gas sectors. We provide service to all aspects of the energy supply chain including exploration and production, beyond the refinery gate, power generation, transmission and distribution and energy supply.

As part of our exciting expansion, Navigant is seeking to develop our European Energy Practice in our London office.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

  • Highly developed organizational skills

  • An advanced degree

  • Knowledge of the regulatory frameworks, technologies, sectors, policy implications in the UK and on the continent (for Senior Consultant candidates)

  • Understanding of energy market dynamics

  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness

  • Experience developing and using analytical models and simulations

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software


  • Experience working in both industry and/or consulting

  • Probably Engineering or Economics qualified with a relevant post graduate qualification

  • May have experience working with investor owned or state owned utilities

  • May have experience working with electricity or gas distribution companies

  • May have experience working with regulators and or regulatory frameworks

  • Likely to have experience working on or leading projects which involve project management, process improvement, financial modelling, business transformation, strategy delivery
