Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise Energy Efficiency contractors and auditors. Assist, as needed, with conducting physical site inspections using a variety of equipment and tools including but not limited to: measuring devices, hand tools, various ladder types and sizes, blower door, combustion safety analysis equipment and protective equipment

  • Prepare quality control documentation of energy efficiency upgrades for upload to shared database and communicate results to EE contractors

  • Analyze failures and take corrective action on an as needed basis based on findings and severity of quality infringements

  • Develop relationships and ensure solar installers and energy efficiency crews install according to standards and in accordance to best practices

  • Develop training to bring quality awareness to Field Technician team and subcontractors

  • Continually improve QA receiving inspection process and procedures

  • Prepare QA reports

  • Accomplish energy efficiency results by communicating subcontractor expectations; develop and coordinate policies, procedures, and productivity standards

  • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyze and resolve quality and customer service problems; identify trends; recommend system improvements

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of energy efficiency

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Identify opportunities to better serve customers through the delivery of EE work

  • Assist with Account Management and Project Management technical questions and concerns as needed

Position Requirements


  • Must be able to work both on a team as well as a one man/woman show

  • Ability to understand, read, and comprehend plans and specifications; ability to stay organized and maintains project records

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for accurate quality control evaluation documentation and work oversight

  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; familiarity of formulas within spreadsheets

  • The ability to read plans, specifications, diagrams, equipment submittals, and material data sheets

  • Excellent time management

  • Ability to capture referrals and leave customers happy

  • Ability to train and manage people


  • High School or Trade School degree in a discipline related to construction or building sciences, engineering or architecture is preferred

  • Building Performance Institute certification or experience with Energy Efficiency is required

  • North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners Certification required

  • A minimum of three years of experience in a discipline related to construction or building sciences; estimating or site auditing experience is preferred; photovoltaic installation experience is preferred

  • Customer service experience required

  • Minimum of 2 years supervising others

  • Proficiency with computers and various applications including MS Office, as well as a general disposition towards learning technology including the use of online platforms such as but not limited to Dropbox, Salesforce (CRM) on various devices (laptop, tablet, and smart phone)

  • Availability to customer calls on some evenings and Saturdays.

  • Provide and maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record to safely operate a company vehicle

  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen
