IHS Markit Senior Associate, Vehicle Energy Analyst in Gurgaon, India
As a key member of the Cost to Compliance organization which is part of IHS Markit Powertrain and CO2 compliance team, the Fellow Simulation Engineer will be responsible for developing Vehicle Energy model and conduct optimisation for current and future powertrain technologies that achieve required fuel economy to meet global market regulation. Key Responsibilities: Research and analyse Global (US, Europe, China) powertrain and electrification market, changes, regulations, trends and consumer demandsGenerate rule based technology implementation plan from Powertrain sales and production forecastWork closely with global powertrain counterparts to ensure rules are validated before simulationAssist senior staff in optimising forecasting models.Statistical knowledge including linear and log-linear regression analysis.The successful candidate will be expected to work with the Global Vehicle energy management team , the other members of the costing , to deliver Cost to Compliance product from concept through to their delivery phaseConducting CAE assessments by developing advanced vehicle energy toolset which from first principles of energy modellingResearch non geometric data and data analysis to assess Fuel economy based homologation metrics across European ,China,USA cyclesKnowledge on WLTP , NEDC , FTP and JC08 cycles are essentialWorking experience on deriving whole vehicle energy management from all type of powertrain design (HEV,PHEV,EV,MHEV and ICE) using first principles is essentialAble to demonstrate dissection of overall vehicle energy demand and overall powertrain efficiency to energy component from current vehicles and applying it to future vehicle The candidate will be able to show experience in one or more of these areas with further training provided to master those remaining as necessary Key Skills Required :Knowledge and understanding of Powertrain and vehicle energy consumption principles. Experience with hybrid and electric vehicles is an advantage but not necessaryExperience of the automotive competitive landscape and an understanding of future Powertrain technologiesExcellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate with other functions to achieve objectives and resolve issues is essential Skills Required:Knowledge of general engineering principles relevant to the design, development, testing and manufacture of technically engineered productsKnowledge and understanding of thermodynamic and aerodynamic principlesKnowledge on Coastdown,Roadload and fuel map generation and energy mapping is essentialKnowledge of systems and tools used to develop system dynamic or agent based modelsAbility to work with technical and commercial informationExcellent interpersonal and communication skills essential to liaising with a number of internal and external parties, and carrying out a range of work tasksPC Fluent (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Self-motivated, flexible and demonstrate the ability to carry out tasks with minimal supervision Experience Required:Experience of any existing Vehicle Fuel economy CAE or Matlab Simulink based CAE is an advantageExperience of working with Engine management system or Transmission calibration would be beneficialStrong Experience in large scale simulation/batch run files using Excel macro , VBA etc is essentialPreferable experience on languages like R, Linux , Python Script, C, C++ is crucialTool knowledge of CO2MPAS, WLTP Energy analysis, Vehicle energy demand estimation is preferableEssential experience on Tableau reader and writer
