Stantec Treatment is looking to strengthen their Waste to Energy team with an EC&I Technician for our Ince Park plant in Chester.

Ince Park is a 21 MW waste wood biomass power plant deploying Outotec fluidised bed gasification technology to power over 41,000 local homes.

Within this role you will carry out maintenance tasks, involving calibration, fault finding and routine maintenance of electrical, control & instrumentation equipment You will report directly to the Operations and Maintenance Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include;

• To maintain records of all EC&I equipment and system maintenance and calibration using the corporate Asset Management System or other appropriate means

• To report, diagnose and remedy plant defects, proposing improvements where appropriate

• To propose and develop modifications to plant /apparatus as appropriate

• To liaise with operations staff and other maintenance staff as appropriate

• To assist during major maintenance periods, shut-downs, etc, as required to return plant to optimum availability and efficiency

• Participate on a 365 day rota and be contacted outside normal working hours to maintain plant availability & efficiency

• To supervise Company and Contractors staff as appropriate

• Maintain the workshop and other work areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition

• Carry out duties associated with company Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Procedures, including audits as appropriate

• Carry out other duties within the scope and spirit of the job as instructed by Management

Qualifications:

Knowledge / Qualifications

• An experienced Engineer / Technician, having served a recognised apprenticeship

• Qualified to HNC, or equivalent, in a relevant Engineering discipline, but knowledgeable in Control, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering

• Knowledge of all aspects of maintenance techniques associated with control systems, pneumatic and hydraulic transducers and instrumentation

• Good understanding of, and ability to interface with PLC systems, SCADA, DCS & PID control

Ability / Experience

• Previous experience gained in a continuous process industry

• Good communication with staff at all levels

• Able to work a rota that includes some weekend working to give overall maintenance cover 365 days per year

• Able to be contacted, and attend site, outside of normal hours if required

• Experience of High Voltage Apparatus
