CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Energy Accounting group. We are looking for an Energy RIN Analyst / Accountant to manage the RIN (Renewable Identification Number) compliance process for CHS and on behalf of specific Renewable Fuels Marketing Plant partners. You must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with proven analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are essential.
Coordinate and oversee daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly RIN compliance processes and act as a RIN Agent to oversee and coordinate processes for the Renewable Fuels Marketing Plant Partners.
Prepare weekly reports on Plant RIN positions, ensuring all plant positions are maintained and accounted for.
Prepare RIN transaction details showing balanced to EMTS (EPA Moderated Transaction System).
Reconcile and prepare EPA quarterly and yearly regulatory reports.
Ensure CHS annual compliance for all RFS standards, RVO (Renewable Volume Obligation), and exports/imports.
Resolve RIN system issues and ensure daily controls are in place to maintain integrity of the transactions.
Identify and implement system enhancements, improving accuracy, processing efficiency, and data integrity.
Act as liaison with IT and the EPA testing upgrades to EMTS to ensure all RIN processes and system interfaces work as expected and required.
Provide analysis and support within the Energy Accounting Group surrounding RIN accounting and compliance.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, monthly invoices, process A/P accurately and partner with business operations to resolve discrepancies.
Maintain Energy Price Change information received daily and enter into JDE 9.0.
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Basic Qualifications: (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3 plus years of experience with accounting and ERP systems
Experience in data and systems analysis
Preferred Qualifications: (desired)
Renewable Fuels Industry experience
Regulatory and government compliance experience
