Business Development Manager

to grow the ETHICON core energy business related to the recent acquisition of Megadyne.

Reporting to the Business Unit Lead ETHICON Switzerland, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of specific customer development plans by providing full clinical and commercial support.

The role requires collaboration and leadership in several areas of the sales and marketing mix including business development in high potential accounts, KOL engagement, customer segmentation, targeting and, positioning, new product introductions, supply chain management, and monitoring competitive and sales dynamics.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Meet and exceed sales targets for their geographic area, maximizing sales’ and profit’s potential

  • Develop in depth understanding of the needs and objectives of customers on all levels- both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, in order to develop tailored solutions which maximize sales and sales potential

  • Provide Clinical Support and training plan for new customers and for increasing the products adoption

  • Collaborate with other functions including Key Account Management, Sales Consultants and Sales Managers to drive execution and deliver on objectives

  • Manage assigned product portfolio and be accountable for achievement of business goals

  • Prepare and implement annual marketing plans and professional education events where required, for assigned product lines to achieve corporate objectives

  • Provide ongoing market analysis and conduct product line performance analysis for existing brands and new products

  • Identify industry trends and relevant competitive information, implement and maintain a deep knowledge of competitor's products and strategies in the local market

Qualifications

  • Ability to rapidly gain trust and to interact and collaborate with people effectively

  • Ability to positively influence thinking, behavior and gain commitment

  • Be creative, proactive and resourceful, maintain accountability for his/her actions and make good judgment in the performance of his/her duties

  • Demonstrate good leadership and project management skills as well as a sense of entrepreneurship

  • Demonstrate strategic capabilities and problem-solving skills

  • The ideal candidate will need to be able to evolve in an environment with various degrees of complexity and ambiguity

  • Good presentation skills required

  • Languages: Fluent in English and German. Ability to speak Italian and especially French are strong advantages

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in Sales and/or Marketing/Product Management

  • Being able to work in an Operating Room setting is required

Education & Experience

  • Business or Engineering degree preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of health care sales experience, capital equipment experience preferred

  • Trained to apply advanced Microsoft package skills: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook

  • Clean driving license
