JOB POSTING JOB PURPOSE: The position will be filled at a level I or II (level of responsibility will be based on applicants' knowledge skills or abilities). The incumbent is responsible for long and short-term planning, scheduling and dispatching power generation and water spill for the District’s Lake Chelan hydro reservoir storage project. Performs hydro power resource modeling, forecasting, and develops short-term/long-term revenue projections for the District’s three hydro projects. Monitors or assesses hydro generation risks and evaluates strategies to optimize the value of District’s generating resources. Provides snow survey program data to evaluate and forecast Chelan basin runoff and lake levels. Perform analysis of data and apply mathematical and statistical methods, and provides assistance in the development of reporting and analysis to management, and asset optimization. EF 35% Lake Level Management, Generation Coordination & Dispatch-Supports Lake Chelan lake level management by planning and scheduling long and short term Chelan Hydro energy generation and water spill to achieve District goals and adhere to regulatory compliance. Prepares generation and spill instructions and schedules for hydro operators. Works closely with Manager of Energy Planning and trading to analyze operational issues and associated intra-month transaction strategies. Coordinates lake level management tasks with hydro operations and other District departments. 2. EF 50% Modeling, Forecasting, Economic Analysis, and Optimization - Develops, updates, recommends/leads Lake Chelan operating guidelines and operating plans used by the District's internal Lake Chelan Lake Level Management Team and the Energy Planning and Trading Department.
