Leidos is hiring an Operational Energy War gaming and Modeling and Simulation Specialist in Washington, DC. Leidos supports the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Operational Energy) (SAF/IEN) with project management and policy support subject matter experts. Each year about $9B, or 7-8% of the Air Force budget has gone to purchase energy. Approximately 86%, or $7.2B, is operational energy (mostly aviation fuel). The Air Force Operational Energy Program vision is “Mission assurance through energy assurance.” SAF/IEN will achieve that vision through improving resiliency, optimizing demand, and assuring supply with the objective of increasing efficiency 10% by 2020 (using 2011 baseline). The A/E will support this overall vision, the associated goals and objectives and the following duties:

• Coordinate, consolidate, develop, and maintain SAF/IE’s Energy War gaming and Modeling and Simulation Program governance and programmatic documents (e.g. Air Force Instructions, policies), action plan recommendations, task and inquiry responses, and issue resolution action plans

• Provide detailed updates to leadership and interested parties by participating in meetings/forums and coordinating, consolidating, developing and delivering/presenting associated meeting materials (e.g. slides, after action reports, minutes)

• Provide commercial and other service (e.g. U.S. and international) landscape visibility and knowledge management related to aviation network operations (e.g., system-of-systems, command and control)

• Develop, staff, advise and facilitate senior level governance and oversight activities on aviation fuels, modeling and simulation and war-gamming

• Participate in USC Title 10 Air Force and Joint Staff war gaming programs to include the appropriate tools and techniques

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) with 12+ years related experience

• Experience with Air Force modeling and simulation preferably with operational energy

• Demonstrated successful support to senior organizational leadership

• Profficient with Microsoft Office

• Excellent written and oral communications skills
