Lead a team of professionals that drive customer-oriented business models and strategies for energy efficiency, demand response, distributed generation, energy storage, alternative fuel vehicles and connected homes that are aligned with overall customer and corporate strategies and meet the evolving needs of National Grid’s diverse customers and communities.
_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):_
Strategy development for energy, transportation and smart cities solutions for customers, including development of tariffs / rates, in collaboration with various internal and external partners.**
Development of business cases, value propositions, and programs for new product/service proposals, including business case to National Grid and its customers.
Provide strategic organizational direction and develop long-range plans that impact development of new products and services for customers.
Provides consulting and recommendations to senior management on strategies for future customer offerings that are aligned with and support Company’s Growth Playbook and Utility of the Future.
Conducts high level reviews of project charters and work plans, confirming appropriateness of project approach and that cross-functional work streams have been included to facilitate success in the delivery of project/program.
Co-Lead regulatory proceedings and filings, and testify at hearings as needed, across all jurisdictions in order to support the realization of the National Grid’s objectives.
Utilize the results of research and demonstration projects to evolve the customer value propositions and strategies.
Initiate demonstration projects to accelerate the adoption of renewables, storage, AFV, and other DER technologies, services and business models to evaluate different hypothesis and customer value propositions.
Review and contribute to relevant internal policies and positions in collaboration with other teams, departments, and functions.
Create and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in order to build and maintain long-term emerging markets strategy.
_Knowledge & Experience Required:_
A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related science, a Master’s degree in engineering or business administration, and 8 years of related work experience is desired OR in lieu of degree(s), equivalent work experience required.
Deep knowledge of industry trends and innovation occurring in emerging markets, including distributed generation. storage, alternative fuel vehicles, smart cities and connected homes is highly desirable,
Working knowledge of relevant existing and proposed regulation, legislation, and policy (state, regional, and national) and familiarity with related business processes is preferable.* *
