We are currently seeking an Intermediate Energy Modeller to join our Facade Group located in Brampton. This position reports to the Assistant Discipline Manager. This applicant will be responsible to perform energy modeling and analysis on new and existing buildings as well as work with the facade and sustainability team on other projects.
Use a wide range of performance simulation tools to analyze energy efficiency of the building enclosure
Fulfill a range of energy efficiency and energy resource planning activities
Work as an integral part of a building's design team including architects, mechanical and electrical designers, to provide input on energy performance measures and make recommendations for energy saving measures
Review design documents (plans, specifications, shop drawings) as they are developed to ensure that the intended energy efficiency measures are being incorporated into the design including ASHRAE and LEED standards
Preparation of building analysis reports and LEED documentation to present results of energy and thermal modeling
Work with clients to define project targets
Update energy simulations as the design progresses and provide technical analysis and support during the construction process
Provide guidance on energy modeling to other project team members
Be an active member of the integrated design team
Work towards becoming a member towards of the Canada Green Building Council's experienced modellers list

The Skills and Knowledge You Bring
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Sciences.
Minimum 5 years energy modelling experience using a variety of energy simulation tools such as Design Builder, eQuest, EE4, EnergyPlus, TRNSYS, IES Visual Environment.
Comprehensive understanding of high rise residential and commercial mechanical systems and HVAC equipment design experience is required.
Energy modelling experience for LEED projects is considered an asset.
Experience in the Building Sciences.
Understanding and knowledge of Architectural, Electrical / Mechanical Drawings is required.
LEED Accredited Professional with specialization.
Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and work independently.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
Member of the CaGBC's Experienced Modelers List is considered an asset.
Registered Engineer-in-Training considered an asset.
