Key Responsibilities


Provide Energy Management with consistent, timely and accurate forecasts of energy market fundamentals

Develop and present market guidance sufficient to identify clearly both market opportunities as well as


hazards.

Delivery of daily and weekly analyses to real-time, cash and term desks, as well as the production of special


studies targeting specific opportunities and strategies.

Design, develop and implement systems to automatically retrieve, organize, store, analyze and present


fundamentals data, with emphasis on improving presentation and delivery. Basic systems should include: o o o o o o o o o

Forecast and actual loads Generator unit outages Gas pipeline flows Power plant fuel consumption Estimated and actual power plant production Historical and current weather data Commercial market data subscriptions ISO, power pool and reliability council market data Water supply and power production estimation

Identify, evaluate and distribute sources of near-term supply/demand balances and price data for power and


natural gas markets.


Review and compile economic/demographic forecasts and price curves for power and gas markets.

Provide commercial leadership in developing IBR’s short and long term fundamental point of views (POV) on


supply/demand balances for power and gas, weather, hydrology, natural gas storage, and other key drivers.

Interface with upper management regarding market POV, policy issues and economic/demographic


forecasts.


Maintain dynamic forecasting methodologies and procedures as the markets and structures evolve; ensure

that regional market studies reflect a consistent view of market fundamentals, trends and issues.


Recruit, train, supervise and mentor support staff as appropriate.

Ensures all relevant internal controls are followed and develops new controls as needed.

Requirements

5+yrs experience in energy sector with primary concentration in electric power and natural gas Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or other quantitative field or the equivalent

Required Qualifications (Education, Years of or Specific Types of Experience, Required Computer Skills, Etc.)
