TECO Energy, Inc. Systems Analyst - Energy Trading and Risk Management in Tampa, Florida

POSITION CONCEPT:The Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) Systems Analyst is a technical expert in the implementation and support of ETRM solutions. They implement and support vendor software, develop and integrate custom applications, and provide 24x7 application support. They collaborate on all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) and utilize appropriate development tools and technologies in keeping with our IT architecture. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Develops software of moderate complexity based on specifications provided. Implements software packages for which moderate configuration and integration is required; interaction with vendor resources remotely or onsite may be required.Integrates applications with moderately complex interfaces based on specifications provided.Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission-critical. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by producing required documentation and estimates with review by more senior staff.Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables with review by more senior staff.Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager, senior team members, or project managers. May function as Technical Lead on small projects.Acquires and maintains knowledge of business areas relevant to projects and application support assignments.Acquires and maintains appropriate technical skills.EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:Degree must be from an institution accredited by the Commissions on CollegesRequired: Bachelorandrsquo;s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration,Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline. Preferred: At least one professional certification in specific job-related disciplines preferred inaddition to the requirements above. EXPERIENCE:Required:2 to 5 years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. Preferred:4 to 5 years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. Minimum of 2 years of Allegro ETRM experience is a plus. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Required: Expert in the installation, configuration, testing, and integration of the ETRM system. Proficient in supporting ETRM real-time operations, including participation in the on-call support rotation and effectively interacting with operational staff to adapt ETRM capabilities to meet operational requirements. Strong experience in the development and implementation of procedures for administration and operation of the ETRM, including high-availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, patching, and upgrades; also maintain configuration documentation and assure compliance with SOX requirements. Proficient in .Net development using C#, and Transact SQL. Experienced in authoring SDLC deliverables including technical design specifications. Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate their role, project goals, and timelines; participates in developing plans with project managers.
