Senior Energy Engineer
Bergmann Associates is seeking an engineer with experience and interest in building auditing, benchmarking, energy use and load calculations, and systems evaluation. Has exposure to government and utility energy evaluation and incentive programs.
The candidate should have a background and understanding of building mechanical systems, HVAC, lighting, control systems, and alternative energy sources.
Provides 3rd party reviews of energy reports, tests, etc.
Surveys and evaluates facilities and systems to develop energy conservation measures.
Will be required to perform field inspections, research, and measurements.
Calculates energy and cost savings from proposed measures.
Good written communication skills and experience in technical energy-related report writing.
Familiarity with government and utility incentive programs.
Experience with demand side energy reduction and feasibility studies.
Experience with spreadsheet based energy models.
Experience with hands on field equipment such a IR camera, flowmeters, data loggers, etc.
Understanding of chilled water, heating and processed air control systems and equipment.
Bachelors of Science in Engineering from an accredited university.
NYS PE preferred
Five years of experience
Demand side management & general mechanical engineering experience
The ability to manage projects
Strong report writing and Microsoft Excel skills are required
CEM, CEA a plus
