Marketing, Midstream and Processing (MMP) shall maximise corporate value creation in Statoil’s mid- and downstream business through safe, reliable and efficient operations. We are responsible for capturing the full value potential of all marketed and traded products such as crude oil, liquids and natural gas.

MMP is responsible for capturing the full value potential of all marketed and traded products.
MMP Marketing and Trading North America Domestic (MMP MT NAD) is responsible for marketing and trading of Statoil equity production in North America and are represented in Stamford and Calgary.
Safe, reliable and efficient operations
Flow assurance and value creation around Statoil’s North American equity portfolio, commercial optimization of positions including infrastructure positions
3rd party trading of physical commodities, and trading of relevant derivatives
Originating trading opportunities and managing NAD’s marketing portfolio
NAD is an enabler for opportunities for the Global Books in CRE and LLL and for LLL`s global LNG trading
NAD is organized in the following units: Trading Gas, Trading Crude, Trading LPG and Light Ends, Operations Gas, Operations Liquids, NAD Origination.
The Trading Gas (TG) team is the commercially responsible unit for Statoil's natural gas marketing and trading activities in North America.
This includes marketing of Statoil’s equity gas production from the Gulf of Mexico, Marcellus and Eagle Ford and optimizing the downstream assets within that portfolio
Purpose of position:
The Natural Gas Trader will be part of the TG team and responsible for trading of prompt and forward natural gas – physical and paper – in order to maximize the value of Statoil’s natural gas position in the US.
Responsibilities and Duties:
As part of the trading team, contribute to marketing of natural gas from onshore Marcellus and Eagle Ford shales and offshore GoM production areas
Optimization of revenue utilizing firm transportation and storage capacity, utilizing both equity and 3rd party gas supplies
Covering downstream commitments with domestic supply in event of shortfall of equity gas supply
Managing financial outright and spread risk within approved mandates
Together with other traders, ensure proper coverage and management of all books and positions
Provide necessary input to natural gas operations, credit and finance regarding proposed and executed deals
Financial evaluation and modelling of natural gas sales and purchase deals, including storage and transportation
Working with the origination group to bring new deals into the portfolio
Minimum 5 years experience of physical North American natural gas markets.
Bachelor degree or equivalent, with a Masters degree preferred. Relevant work experience and personal qualifications may compensate for lack of formal education.
