Southern California Edison Senior Project Manager, Energy Procurement & Management – “Center of Excellence” (MPP2) in Rosemead, California

Position Overview:

The Senior Project Manager will be a valued team member of Energy Procurement & Management’s (EPM’s) newest group, the Center of Excellence. The successful candidate will manage and develop EPM’s 5-year operating plan, develop and manage performance reporting on goals, operating metrics, OU plan variances, and headcount, and support the development of the strategic roadmap. A critical function of this role is the management and oversight of EPM’s continuous improvement initiative, Outstanding Success Possibilities (OSPs) which includes frequent interaction with management and subject matter experts across EPM.

This role will also lead EPM’s contribution to the GRC effort including development of testimony and responding to data requests. Other essential responsibilities include leading various strategic/analytical projects as assigned, preparing reports and presentations, presenting information in a clear and concise manner, and proactively coordinating with key stakeholders.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Project Manager is assigned responsibility for EPM’s operating plans.Accordingly, the position will also lead and manage a cross-functional team to develop these plans.This Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for managing the reporting of EPM’s goals and key operating metrics, variance in performance of OU plans and resource needs.This position will also facilitate management of the annual development process for goals, key operating metrics and performance targets, as well as monthly and quarterly performance management status updates,.To support these critical processes, this position will oversee the creation and regular maintenance of tools to collect and distribute performance management information on a periodic basis and have discussions on goal variance with EPM management.

  • Supports various business initiatives by leading specific projects, task forces or other as outlined by management. Management and oversight of EPM’s Outstanding Success Possibilities (OSP) initiative, and the Diversity & Inclusion Pilot are two key projects for focus.

  • Responsible for maintaining consistency and assessing quality of GRC supporting data, testimonial, and data request responses.

  • Manage expectations and relationships within and across various groups. Set and adjust project scope to meet client needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Six years of experience managing projects including project development, implementation, reporting, schedules, and risk management.

  • Experience identifying, leading, and implementing improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness.

  • Experience with aspects of developing operating plans, performance reporting on goals, and/or strategic planning.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Communications or equivalent field.

  • Seven years of experience analyzing industry trends, emerging technologies and/or building strategies and business plans.

  • Experience implementing Continuous Improvement practices through applying Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Lean Six Sigma (or similar) or Project Management PMP certification.

  • Strong Excel skills, knowledge of SAP.
