NJ Employer Gerhard R. Andlinger Visiting Fellows in Energy and the Environment in Princeton, New Jersey

Princeton UniversityThe Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University invites applications for the Gerhard R. Andlinger Visiting Fellows Program, with start dates as early as February 2018. The visiting fellows program at the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment is designed to attract distinguished visitors who will enrich the research and/or teaching missions of the Andlinger Center. Applicants must propose a set of activities designed to enrich teaching and/or research at the Andlinger Center that go beyond contributing to the visitor's career development, research, teaching, and/or advancing a collaborator's research. Examples include: *The visitor collaborates with one or more Andlinger Center associated faculty and/or research staff members on topics that are aligned with the mission of the Andlinger Center. *The visitor guest lectures and/or teaches an Andlinger Center energy studies (ENE) or ENE-cross-listed course, with the goal of having the course material absorbed into a permanent ENE or ENE-cross-listed course ensuring sustained benefit for Princeton students. All teaching appointments require approval by the Office of the Dean of the Faculty. *The visitor presents a series of talks on areas of interest to a broad spectrum of Andlinger Center associated faculty, research staff and students, and/or organizes/participates in workshops, through which the visitor helps augment the conversation around one of the Andlinger Center's research thrusts: obuilt environment, transportation + infrastructure; oelectricity production, transmission + storage; ofuels + chemicals; opollutant detection + remediation technologies; odecision science, policy + economics; oenvironmental + climate science. Applications from visitors with expertise in the energy/environment sector, from a variety of backgrounds, including from academia, industry, government, and/or non-governmental organizations, are encouraged. Teaching component *While visitors are not required to teach, a visitor may be asked to teach an approved course in his/her area of expertise. Course proposals are subject to the approval by the ACEE Director and the Dean of the College. Minimum enrollment requirements and other course related university policies will apply including approval of the teaching appointment by the Office of the Dean of the Faculty. *Visitors who do not plan to teach a course are encouraged to offer guest lectures in Andlinger Center courses under course code ENE or in ENE cross-listed undergraduate and graduate courses taught by Princeton faculty. Application process *Applications are considered biannually with application materials due on January 1 for a fall semester appointment and October 1 for a spring semester appointment. *Applicants are encouraged to discuss and coordinate plans with Andlinger Center associated faculty and senior research staff and will be asked to identify a Princeton sponsor who will submit a letter of support. *Applicants will be requested to submit the following materials: oCurriculum vitae including a list of publications or other professional accomplishments; oDescription of planned activities; oList of potential collaborators including contact information for Princeton sponsor who will be asked to submit a letter of support. *Princeton sponsor will be asked to highlight the following information in letter of support: oDescription of the candidate's unique attributes; oOutline of proposed activities during the visitor's stay. Duration & Funding *Nominal duration for the visit is one academic semester; shorter or longer appointments will be considered on a case-by-case basis. *Fellows coming without the financial support of their regular employer, the Andlinger Center will offer full stipend based on experience and/or rank, as determined by the Office of the Dean of Faculty.
