  • The role will emphasize the importance of developing relationships and influencing a variety of stakeholders including regulators, program implementers and utilities themselves

  • In addition to sales Business Development activities, account management will also be a component for this role. As such, a strong ability to ensure the success of existing partners - including identifying new business opportunities for Nest - is critical

  • As much as you enjoy being externally facing, you’re also excited to work with cross functional teams at Nest to help sign, launch, grow and highlight program and partner successes

  • You’re a strategic thinker, able to prioritize opportunities based on potential, probability to close, and ability to scale… but also a doer at heart

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 6+ years working with regulated energy markets, efficiency or demand response programs

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to meet partners

Preferred qualifications:

  • Self starter with a love of a fast paced, informal environment where change and innovation are the norm

  • Experience with Central Region utility partners and or regulators

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Motivated, proactive team player with innovative ideas to inspire customer loyalty

  • Diplomacy, tact, and poise under pressure when working through customer issues

  • A track record in managing utility RFPs and closing deals denominated in the millions of dollars (ideally with energy utilities) is a distinct advantage
