TRC Companies Program Project Manager, Residential Energy Efficiency in Oakland, California

TRC Energy Services (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC seeks a project manager for residential energy efficiency programs in California. This position is responsible for managing residential energy efficiency programs and supporting projects and managers across the company. TRC seeks a leader with proven success managing projects and budgets, and superb communication skills, to grow with our company. The position is located in TRC's Rancho Cordova, California office (Sacramento area) or Oakland, California office.

Job Duties: * Support program manager in contract, budget, timeline and deliverable management * Support program manager in subcontractor, and internal team management * Develop and manage systems and processes to track results for reporting, efficiency, and strategy purposes * Develop program budget and manage financial performance, and conduct forecasts * Promote energy programs to utility customers, developers, raters, contractors, and manufacturers * Communicate effectively to solidify relationships with the primary client, subcontractors, and project team * Establish and maintain high standards of work, communication, and deliverables * Inspire, mentor, and support other TRC staff * Coordinate with TRC teams including engineering, evaluation, emerging technologies, marketing, and financing to meet program needs * Develop strategy for improving and expanding residential programs

Other Job Duties Dependent on Skills and Experience: * Recruit building projects into the program and manage documentation * Provide design and technical assistance and recommend energy efficiency measures * Provide technical guidance and support or assist in addressing on-site issues * Provide customer support with the energy efficiency work scope implementation * Conduct site visits to identify energy savings opportunities and verify that the energy efficiency measures or equipment are installed to program quality standards

  • Bachelor's degree or eight years of relevant experience
  • Three years of experience in the areas of construction, residential development, affordable housing, multifamily retrofit, energy consulting, HERS rating, and/or energy efficiency programs
  • Familiarity with residential design and construction processes, cost estimation, purchasing, building systems and components, and affordable housing
  • Knowledge of building science, energy codes, and energy modeling
  • Established analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills
  • Established presentation/public speaking skills
  • Ability to persuade, influence, and negotiate effectively within and outside the organization
  • Excellent computer skills: proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technologies
  • U.S. citizenship or green card
  • Valid driver's license in the State of California; position entails some travel, mostly within California.
