Job Description

TRC Energy Services collaborates with clients to develop market transforming programs that promote energy efficiency and green building in multiple market sectors across the US. These programs reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC acts nationally to address some of our country’s most challenging problems: global climate change and energy independence.

TRC is seeking a creative and flexible Business and Marketing Project Associate for our growing Energy Services consulting practice. This individual will work closely with our business development and service team members to develop marketing and project-related materials to promote our energy efficiency services to clients and prospects.

Key elements of this position include data collection, analysis, and reporting to client management teams and internal sources; quality control and editing; process improvement and documentation; proposal development support and marketing support. Working in conjunction with the business development and production team leaders, TRC is seeking candidates able to provide the following types of support:

  • Business Operations

  • Create internal and customer-facing documents and deliverables

  • Format reports and deliverables; grammar, punctuation, and clarity editing

  • Understand and follow company document control procedures to ensure smooth tracking, retrieval, archiving, and back-up of documents related to program activities and deliverables

  • Estimate and document work load to establish completion dates while keeping stakeholders up to date on project status

  • Marketing

  • Market research for energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, and climate sectors

  • Develop and maintain targeted contact and media lists

  • Social media and marketing strategy development and implementation

  • Develop and edit case studies, qualifications, and professional resumes

  • Event planning and marketing logistics

  • Graphic design

  • Proposal Development

  • Review proposal-related requirements and ensure that responses meet requirements.

  • Edit responses for formatting, grammatical, and spelling errors

  • Develop specific proposal, qualifications, and form responses, making sure that all technical and administrative requirements are met

  • Produce high-quality proposals and deliver bound and/or electronic responses within firm deadlines

  • Print and assemble multiple documents for distribution to clients and potential clients in a timely and organized fashion

  • Provide miscellaneous support to TRC senior staff as requested

Required Experience

  • 2+ years of experience with a major in business, marketing, communications, English, or equivalent

  • Customer-oriented, collaborative, adaptable contributor

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Well-organized and detail-oriented

  • Competent with Software Applications:

  • Power user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Dreamweaver, WordPress, or MailChimp a plus

  • Graphic design, social media, or database management skills a plus

  • Experience with or interest in energy efficiency, conservation, or sustainability a plus

  • Available 40 hours/week
