NAES Corporation has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic at Kleen Energy Systems located in Middletown, Connecticut.
The plant is a 620 MW combined cycle, dual fuel power facility that consists of 2 Siemens SGT6-PAC 5000F combustion turbines, and 1 Siemens SST6-PAC5000 steam turbine, supplying power into the ISO New England system via CL&P; 345 KV transmission line.

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for handling routine maintenance and repairs on plant facilities and equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic performs tasks in accordance with the Plant Maintenance Program and associated maintenance and repair procedures.
Participate in the plant's preventive maintenance program by performing routine maintenance duties, including the collection of trending information for the Maintenance Supervisor.
Keep track of spare parts as they are used and complete a usage report in order to replace items as necessary. Assist in physical inventories.
Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
Set up and operate machine shop tools in the performance of all machine work to close tolerances. Align and balance rotating equipment.
Inspect and repair all turbines, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, and similar equipment.
Assemble and repair tubing, piping, valves and fittings subjected to both high and low temperature or high and low pressure, or where certified welding is required.
Assemble, disassemble, repair and adjust all types of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Complete other tasks as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required.
Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school.
Four years experience as a power plant mechanic, millwright or equivalent required.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
