CTC has an opportunity for a qualified Alternative Energy Systems Engineer at Arlington, VA. ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SYSTEMS ENGINEER Primary Responsibilities: CTC is seeking an Alternative Energy Systems Engineer to support Department of Defense (DoD) organizations conducting renewable and alternative energy engineering analysis and specifying energy project requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with design and specification of multiple large scale alternative energy projects utilizing one or more of the following technologies: solar, wind, geothermal, biofuel, biomass, hydro, natural gas or combined heat and power (CHP). This individual functions as the subject matter expert for evaluation and implementation of alternative energy project opportunities involving natural gas or CHP technologies. The successful candidate will be capable of providing engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems in the renewable or alternative energy projects. In this position, the Systems Engineer makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts. The individual will perform risk assessments and analyses employing modeling and simulation techniques. The Alternative Energy Systems Engineer designs, fabricates, modifies and evaluates complicated and difficult mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems and systems. The Engineer prepares design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval. This position has technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved product and/or processes. The successful candidate will be capable of investigating solutions to product and/or process problems and consolidating results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. The Systems Engineer conducts independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications and requirements. In addition to technical requirements, the Alternative Energy Systems Engineer coordinates the efforts of drafters/designers and engineering technicians as required by assigned projects. The successful candidate must therefore be able to work collaboratively and promote a team environment. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Engineer may also provide work leadership for lower level employees. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant degree 4-6 years of experience of mechanical engineering. Preferred Qualifications: Active Security Clearance Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance. Join us!
