Aon are currently recruiting a Marine & Energy Account Handler to join our team in London. The Marine & Energy Account Handler will assist in producing and/or providing quality checks in respect of documentation and transactional activities required to support the placement of business.

As a Marine & Energy Account Handler some of your key responsibilities will involve:

Bespoke Accountabilities

  • Client Support
  • Liaison with account executives, account managers, AB Analytics, clients and reinsurers regarding submission information, portfolio developments and the resulting impact on reinsurance throughout the lifetime of a placement.
  • Transactional Support
  • Assisting account executives with essential administration required to successfully transact a reinsurance placement. Assisting with and responding to Client and Reinsurer data requests and queries.
  • Market Intelligence
  • Supporting MSC team projects by assisting with the development and administration of specific resources to advance our market intelligence. Assist effective planning and identifying opportunities via research and analysis.

Technical Accountabilities

  • Preparation of final reinsurance or insurance documentation
  • Produce final reinsurance or insurance documentation to confirm coverage to clients
  • Preparation of market submission
  • Collect and analyse relevant information and prepare market submissions and presentations for new business or renewals
  • Promotion of products and services
  • Lead or take an active part in activities and initiatives aimed at promoting Aon's products and services in the marketplace (e.g. media events, trade conferences, client seminars)
  • Quality control of reinsurance or insurance documentation Review and check reinsurance or insurance documentation to ensure that it satisfies client requirements and other standards (e.g. regulatory)

Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

About you

As a Marine & Energy Account Handler your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Qualifications

2:1 degree or above is highly desirable

Technical Skills

Understands the role of reinsurance in a clients’ business strategy, effective translation of those needs, identifies appropriate partners, negotiation, statistical analysis and interpretation, legal parameters and content.

Core Skills

In depth understanding, consistently maintains a working knowledge of the client, manages expectations, introduction of new products. Stays abreast of market developments and the client potential impact, has a good knowledge of key competitors, awareness of industry practices and Aon’s regulatory controls.

Interpersonal Skills

Recognises when a problem needs solving, analyses in an organised and productive manner, provides clear communication, takes responsibility for decisions, identifies information pertinent to the subject.

Personal Qualities

Reliable, produces high quality of work, recognizes goals and strives to achieve, accepts feedback and acts on advice, always make an effort to contribute and has a strong team working ethic.
