SUMMARY

Global Technical Services (GTS), a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is seeking a qualified Energy Manager for a possible new contract in Albuquerque, NM at the Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB). Kirtland AFB is located in the high desert of north-central New Mexico.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide training to facility managers on energy conservation in conjunction with periodic facility manager training.

  • Provide, maintain, and operate a system to receive energy-related queries from the installation, or other sources and provide appropriate and timely responses.

  • File and maintain purchased utilities documentation as provided by the government IAW AFI 32-1061 Providing Utilities To U.S. Air Force Installations (27 Jan 2016).

  • Identify (and assist programmers with) energy management projects for execution via a variety of funding sources.

  • Develop, facilitate, and promote energy projects as funding from a variety of sources becomes available.

  • Manage the various energy programs including preparation of programming documents; engineering analysis of energy and cost savings; preliminary cost estimates; life cycle cost analysis IAW the current version of the Building Lifecycle Cost (BLCC) software and other applicable guidance.

  • Submit energy program documents to the FD for approval prior to MAJCOM submittal.

  • Provide energy and water usage data to the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) for 5 years after the Building Occupancy Date for each LEED project.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in energy management at a major US military installation.

  • Have and maintain a Certified Energy Manager certification form the Association of Energy Engineers.

  • Must have or be able to obtain security clearance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Energy Management at a major US military installation.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with internal and external clients and co-workers.

Preferred

  • Seven (7) years’ experience in energy management at a major US military installation.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
