Approximately 10% travel required on a somewhat regular basis to the project location maybe required. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering or scientific principles and practices in broad areas of assignments. Makes independent decisions on engineering or scientific problems and methods, and resolves important issues. Develops solutions independently and provides recommendations. Liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization, with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters. Authorizes preliminary project scope reviews, scope definitions, and estimates. Chairs regular update meetings, to management on scope, budget, engineering costs, schedules, and estimates for engineering designs.Span of control = 0; this is an individual contributor job.Key Accountabilities:•Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.•Assist in the development and execution of large or complex engineering projects.•Develop new or improved techniques and procedures.•Makes recommendations and presentations to management.•Manages outside supplier services including the preparation of requests for quote, bid evaluations, and contract oversight.•Provides expertise on the application of Company codes and standards.•May mentor, provide guidance and direction, or act in a 'subject matter expert' capacity for less experienced staff; may provide input in performance evaluations, but does not supervise.•Provides technical and budget direction and coordination for limited-scope projects.•Recommend and implement solutions to complex problems involving the engineering, science, design, operation, and maintenance of Company assets.QualificationsPosting Qualifications:Required:•Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (Electrical Engineering preferred)•Seven (7) years of job relevant experience.•Computer Skills: Applications and methods used in related discipline.•Ability to produce effective and concise written correspondence.•Knowledge of applicable industry standards of national organizations.•Apply and interpret industry codes and standards in relate•Preferred Professional Engineer (PE)license•Preferred PMI/P
