The Energy Zonal Manager will be responsible for the coordination of all technical and energy underwriting activities for the Midwest Zone, for all Mining accounts in the USA, and for the West Coast Zone (Utilities and Chemical only). In addition to managing the profitability of the portfolio, his/her personal duties will include maintaining and developing the relationship with key accounts, acting as the zonal resources for other underwriters, including training, staff development, referrals and sharing overall product knowledge and expertise. Th Energy Zonal Manager will also represent the practice in business conferences, external and internal symposiums and zonal strategic meetings.
The energy zonal manager will also have direct management responsibility for 4 underwriters and an Analyst. This position reports to the Midwest Property and Special Risks executive and is based in Chicago.
Job Requirements 10+ years of progressively more complicated technical underwriting in property, energy or technical lines. A technical background such as engineering would be a plus. Leadership skills : Ability to communicate a clear vision and direction, ensuring alignment with AIG's mission and strategy Ensure team works well with other groups and departments, ie. product lines, broker and client engagement groups, claims, client service solutions, territory management Collaborate across businesses, functions and geographies to meet our strategic objectives Empower the team for success by eliminating barriers to change Have a financial and business acumen
