Responsible for directing Project/Commissioning Managers in the overall execution of multiple projects, programs or contracts. Administers prime contracts, meets client requirements, regulatory agency criteria, and company commitments. Responsible for delivering large and/or multiple projects, on time, within budget and to agreed specifications and providing effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques. Functions as a team lead for projects including acting as the liaison to internal departments as needed. Focus on business growth through exceeding client expectations during project delivery and developing new client relationships. Plan, organize, and staff key field positions.
Provides operational supervision and technical guidance to Task Manager(s) and other project or marketing personnel as required.
Maintains contact with senior client management and managers of other applicable departments of both Jacobs and other firms engaged in projects relating to a program.
Formulates and recommends management policies, plans and programs for the orderly accomplishment of assigned tasks, programs or areas of responsibility.
Establishes and implements staffing plans for Task Managers and other directly reporting personnel to permit effective handling of current and projected workloads (as required).
Regularly monitors the progress of active projects or tasks through project management reviews, and directs/guides responsible Task Managers to take appropriate corrective actions on a timely basis.
Provides guidance in the development of a well-defined project measurement and control program to meet Jacobs and client requirements.
Establishes management philosophy and procedures for the execution of all assigned projects to assure consistence or approach and sharing of information and experiences.
Directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel and provides for and enforces proper delegation of management authority, responsibility and accountability.
Reviews and approves for release to client, project cost estimates, schedules, trends and forecasts for active projects, and major changes or deviations to those control documents.
Establishes and maintains relationships with clients having similar needs, interests, requirements and processes.
Acts independently to lead a team in the implementation of all aspects of project management. Manages large and often multiple projects and participates in corporate initiatives to assist in meeting the company’s goals.
Mentors and trains clients, vendors and team members in project management methods, procedures and activities.
Assesses project requirements, while developing and recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client. Ensures that project deliverables satisfy project requirements.
Leads team in the development of master project plans to accomplish project commitments and timing.
Determines, monitors and reviews costs, operational budgets, schedules and staffing requirements for project teams.
Manages and enhances project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of their role, and of the project activities in general.
Establishes appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria.
Facilitates the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders, and conducts status review meetings among project team members and clients.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of experience
Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage projects.
Must have developed skills in leadership, oral and written communication, presentations, technical writing, planning, team work, decision making, judgment, and problem solving.
PE registration preferred
LEED Certification preferred
Commissioning Certification preferred
