The Position ICF s Energy Efficiency practice is experiencing growth and has an immediate opening for a full time consultant in our Calgary office. We are looking for a highly-motivated individual with a personal interest in energy efficiency and the potential to address some of society s most challenging issues through more efficient and intelligent use of energy. The successful candidate will be a capable individual who desires to work as an integral member of our energy efficiency team. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, strong technical and analytical capabilities, combined with good communication and interpersonal skills. Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to the following: * Conduct facility energy audits to assess the technical and economic viability of energy efficiency opportunities * Conduct technical reviews on applications from energy efficiency programs * Assist in the planning, co-ordination and management of demand-side management program delivery * Conduct primary and secondary research on energy use in industrial and commercial sectors (literature, internet, telephone), and conduct capital and installation cost modelling for capital projects under $100,000 * Carry out spreadsheet modeling and analysis of complex real-world energy systems * Maintain and update program management databases and tools (including data entry and manipulation) Assist in the preparation of proposals and other business development activities * Assist project managers and senior consultants as required * Travel is required


Qualifications * Bachelor s degree in engineering, or science * Detail-oriented, with strong research and analytical skills * Good understanding of commercial building technologies (HVAC, Boilers, Pumps, Lighting) * A quick learner and self-starter, able to work independently but also able to take direction * Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment * Flexible and adaptable * Strong communication skills (written and oral) * Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with an emphasis on strong spreadsheet skills * Fluent in English (reading, writing and spoken) * A valid driver s license

Preferred Skills/Experience * Prior work experience in energy efficiency and greenhouse gas accounting * Consulting experience * P.Eng and/or CEM * Previous experience with installing / commissioning mechanical systems * Able to be flexible to handle multiple priorities and to work limited overtime as needed
