Job Role Summary

ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company has an immediate opening for a Member of Technical Staff at its Corporate Strategic Research laboratory located in Annandale, NJ.

Primary Job Functions

We are seeking a candidate in life cycle and energy systems analysis to join a team executing programs aimed at understanding, modeling, and quantifying energy technologies in terms of emissions, energy contributions, and impacts. This position also requires knowledge of systems analysis and the ability to conduct research independently and to interpret results into meaningful messages.

Job Requirements

A PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, environmental engineering or related field is required. The successful candidate must have a strong background and demonstrated scientific excellence in estimating flows and emissions related to energy production and its use. Familiarity with process design is also required.

The successful candidate should be willing to explore new areas with an interdisciplinary team, have excellent analytical and leadership skills, and outstanding communication skills allowing her or him to develop broad based research programs and to collaborate and interact externally.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Previous experience with modeling platforms such as Aspen Plus, Matlab, GAMS and integrated assessment models is preferred. Additional experience in mathematical modeling approaches such as statistical analysis or optimization is also desirable.
